Apollo Server: Product DescriptionApollo Server is full-featured, high-performance SQL client/server DBMS. Apollo Server can serve data over a LAN, Internet or Intranet. Move your database applications to true client/server computing with Apollo Server and start enjoying the benefits of client/server computing. Apollo Server makes client/server easy. Based on award-winning Apollo technology, the Apollo Server features Apollo SQL, which is our powerful SQL-92 engine, server-side Stored Procedure support, built-in security, data compression, and much more. Since Apollo is a self-contained engine, ODBC, BDE and the JET are not required. In addition, there are no client-side DLLs to deploy and database administration is non-existent. Apollo Server: Getting StartedApollo Server is as easy-to-use as it is flexible. Within minutes, an Apollo Server can be setup to manage multiple databases and multiple unique client applications. That means you can use a single Apollo Server to simultaneously support an Inventory application, Scheduling application and Accounting application -- each using separate database files, and each supporting a separate set of client connections. Simply move data files to the server where Apollo Server is installed, set up database aliases as required and grant user privileges. Apollo Server: Building Client ApplicationsDevelopers can use Apollo ASP, Apollo VCL, Apollo OLE DB or Apollo COM to build client-side database applications. The same code set can be configured to work as stand-alone applications (i.e. non-client/server), peer-to-peer systems, or these same Apollo applications can connect to an Apollo Server for true client/server performance. Apollo applications can connect to tables located anywhere addressable by an IP address (e.g. 127.0.0.1) or domain name (e.g. www.vistasoftware.com). This means data can reside on a local, interoffice TCP/IP network, or on a web site located on the Internet. Apollo Server: Multi-Server DiscountsMulti-server discounts are available for Apollo Server making it an excellent solution for Integrated Solutions Vendors (ISVs), serious vertical market software publishers and developers that have to deploy servers to tens, hundreds or even thousands of customer sites. Our Apollo Partner Program provides Apollo partners with deep discounts on multi-server purchases, which in turn provide an excellent ROI that is simply unattainable using competing DBMS products. Apollo Server: RequirementsApollo Server is an application that can be deployed on a Windows NT or Windows 2000 computer. The Apollo server can run on Windows 95 and Windows 98, however the threading model in Windows 95 and Windows 98 is not efficient and prevents Apollo Server from operating at optimal speed. The Apollo Server NT service can run on Windows 2000, NT Workstation or NT Server. It is highly recommended that the deployment computer be an NT or Windows 2000 server equipped with solid processing power (i.e. PIII 500) and substantial memory (i.e. 128Meg). The actual requirements for Apollo Server to operate are significantly lower, however, serious performance gains can be achieved simply by using respectable hardware for the server. Apollo Server: PerformanceApollo Server delivers features found in high-priced DBMS products costing many thousands of dollars more. Our super-scalar architecture effortlessly manages tens, hundreds or even thousands of simultaneous users. Network speed is vital so Apollo Server ensures that your end-users experience outstanding performance even over slow network connections such as 56K modem dial-up. We invite you to compare Apollo Server performance to competing products and see for yourself. Other Apollo ProductsApollo Features System Requirements: If your PC can run Delphi or C++Builder, it can use Apollo.
