New Search Results Window! Find what you're looking for, INSTANTLY!

No more paging through document after document viewing your hits one at a time. Now you can edit and delete documents and continue your search where you left off...see the number of hits in the database, in each document, the context of the hit, and any fields from the document... and more!

You can customize the Search Results windows in askSam so your users can see specific fields as well as the hit context, number of hits, or other document information. These customized views can be saved in askSam and easily accessed by your users from a drop down menu in the Search Results toolbar.

Reports

Report links let your users jump from a report to a specific document in your askSam database, by clicking on the data in the report.

Stored Searches

Stored Searches save frequently used searches so your users can execute these searches from the ACTIONS - STORED SEARCHES menu.Increased Maximum Document Size Now there is no limit to the size of the documents you can store in askSam. We increased the document size from 16,000 lines to an unlimited number of lines.

Increased Maximum File Size

askSam is growing to keep pace with your information. We increased 'the file size form from 4 gigabyte to 16 terabyte.

Improved Password Security

We've added multi-level passwords to askSam files. This lets you use passwords to restrict access to certain portions of the askSam Electronic Publisher. For example, you could allow a user to print and copy in a database, but restrict him from exporting data. You set passwords by choosing the Security button in the File Properties menu within askSam.

Improved Encryption

askSam now uses 56 bit encryption to encrypt databases. You can turn on encryption from the Security button on the File Properties menu in askSam.

Support for Parenthesis in Boolean Search Logic

askSam Electronic Publisher now allows your useres to use parenthesis to create search expressions like: red and (black or white) and blue.

Updated the look of the tool bars and buttons Added Tool Tips to the buttons (pointing at a button tells you its function) Updated almost every dialog box. Added Page indicator to Status bar (if auto-pagination is turned on). To Create Your Documents and Databases, you will need a copy of askSam or askSam Professional.

View the Attached Original Files
With askSam 5, you can attach the original files to documents. askSam Viewer lets you see the attached files in their original applications.

Sort Search Results by Relevance
A new option lets you sort your Search Results by Relevance. In the Search Results Properties dialog, we've added a "Sort by Relevance" option to the Sort dialog. If this option is selected, the document with the most hits will be listed first in your Search Results.

128 Bit Encryption
You now have the option of using 128 bit encryption to your databases. 128 bit encryption is more secure, but requires slightly more time to encrypt/decrypt documents.
