If you are interested in ordering a bar code scanner with a keyboard wedge interface from the Bar Code Store, you need to know what type of connector you will need. There are two connectors available:

• The PS2 is the default connector available on all bar code scanners with a keyboard wedge. It is a round 6-pin connector that is compatible with some 386 systems, some 486 systems, and all Pentium systems.
• The AT/PC is an optional connector available on all bar code scanners with a keyboard wedge. It is larger than the PS2. It is a round 5-pin connector that is compatible with XT-286 systems, as well as some 386 and 486 systems.

In order to determine which connector you need, please look at the back of your system, and locate your keyboard connection. You should be able to tell which bar code scanner connector you need by the connector already on your keyboard.

Please note that the PS2 is the default connector shipped. If you need the AT/PC connector, you will need to check the appropriate box on the order form. The AT/PC connector will be shipped as the connector on your scanner — it is not shipped as a separate piece and no assembly is required. It is only a separate line item in our shopping cart to indicate that you do not want the PS2 connector.
