MS700i in use The MS700i offers standard-range, 20-line omnidirectional scanning. Standard features include adjustable volume and tone controls, highly visible LED indicators, and selectable programming making the MS700i user-friendly. Combining these with other features like its thoughtful power control scheme and “auto-off” sleep mode, exclusive MECCA™ code correcting software algorithms and easy installation, the MS700i offers unbeatable value.

The MS700i scanner fully autodiscriminates among all standard bar code types. For special applications, Metrologic has developed optional software that may be provided. Each scanner has multi-interface capabilities, with the standard units containing the three most popular protocols: RS-232, Light pen emulation, and OCIA. Other interfaces available are keyboard wedge, RS-485 (IBM46xx), and parallel.

Whether powered through a host device or by a detachable external power supply, the MS700i draws only 8 watts while fully functioning and only 4 watts during sleep mode. To awaken the scanner, operators need only present an object or simply wave a hand in front of the scanner and the automatic IR sensor turns it on.
