BorderManager™ Enterprise Edition 3.6 is a suite of network services you can use to connect your network securely to the Internet or any other network. It improves network performance and security at the borders between networks. With its three components you can:

Control outside access to your intranet and user access to the Internet
Allow remote access to your intranet and the Internet
Establish a VPN using the Internet
Accelerate access to your intranet and the Internet

With BorderManager Firewall Services you can establish a firewall to protect the data on your network and control and monitor user access to the Internet. Using BorderManager Authentication Services, users can dial into your network and the Intranet without compromising network security. To decrease the expense of dedicated phone lines or modem pools, you can use >BorderManager VPN Services to establish a virtual private network (VPN): a secure, encrypted tunnel through the Internet or any public network that you can use as a low-cost backbone for your enterprise network. And with the proxy caching and reverse caching features of the BorderManager suite you can accelerate Web access and provide faster access to your Web server from the Internet or any other connected network.

BorderManager Enterprise Edition 3.6 includes a number of new features. It now supports VPNs over Network Address Translation (NAT) devices, enabling cable modem and DSL customers with NAT to work from home. It also supports cookie-based session identifiers for customers with NAT and Citrix servers. This means that organizations running a thin-client environment will have control over which Web sites their employees can access. In addition, Bordermanager Enterprise Edition 3.6 supports up to 40 RADIUS authentications per second and provides Triple-DES security worldwide (except in France).

To accommodate a worldwide customer base, BorderManager Enterprise Edition 3.6 is available in multiple languages. It is currently available in English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.

You can install BorderManager Enterprise Edition on any NetWare® 5.x, NetWare 4.2, or Novell Small Business Suite 5.x server. It requires Support Pack 8a or later for NetWare 4 servers, Support Pack 5 or later for NetWare 5 servers, and Support Pack 1 for NetWare 5.1 servers. You can also run BorderManager Enterprise Edition on a dedicated border server. BorderManager Enterprise Edition integrates with Novell Directory Services® and includes a snap-in to NetWare Administrator, so that you can easily manage all of the components of BorderManager Enterprise Edition from a central location.
