What is Pocket Chart FX?

Pocket Chart FX is the newest addition to the family of products from Software FX, Inc., the undisputed leaders in charting technology for programmers and I nternet developers. Pocket Chart FX allows developers to quickly incorporate business, financial and scientific charts to any Pocket PC or H/PC application.

Why Pocket Chart FX?

Pocket Chart FXŽ has been redesigned from scratch according to screen optimizations and user interface guidelines for this mobile platform. At the same time, Pocket Chart FXŽ retains the speed, performance and small memory footprint developers need to deploy rich mobile applications with full business, financial or scientific charting capabilities.

Pocket Chart FXŽ comes with design time controls (ActiveXŽ) that can be installed and seamlessly integrated with embedded Visual BasicŽ or embedded Visual C++Ž to develop mobile applications in a full graphical environment. Similarly, a control compatible with the Pocket PC emulation environment is provided so developers can fully test and debug applications before deployment.

At deployment time, developers can select from a myriad of pre-compiled formats (MIPS, ARM, SH3/4) or from a universal binary format (CEF -Common Executable Format--) that allows developers to write applications without specifying a certain processor. The resulting application can display charts on any Pocket PCŽ.

Pocket Chart FX supports a whole set of chart types, including but not limited to Bar, Column, Area, Scatter, Financial, Pie, Curves, Gantt and Bubble. Most chart types are supported in both 2D and 3D with unlimited variations, making Pocket Chart FX the richest charting tool for Pocket PC Developers.

Licensing

How is Pocket Chart FX licensed?

If you are developing with Microsoft's embedded Visual Tools (embedded Visual Basic or embedded Visual C++), Pocket Chart FX requires each developer to pay an upfront license fee for the right to use Designer components on the desktop.

Each development seat goes together with 25 deployment licenses that give you the right to install the Pocket Chart FX Client components along with your application on mobile devices. If you exceed the number of client licenses that are included with your development seats, you can purchase additional deployment license packages from Software FX.

Software FX offers OEM licensing for those organizations developing mobile applications with high end-user volume or special distribution needs.
