Code Co-op Overview
Code Co-op stands apart from the
other version control system tools by
providing a robust version control
solution for individuals and teams at a
price that any one can afford. If you
are part of a development team, you
will not need a central server. Although
Code Co-op runs effectively on a LAN,
it also joins developers residing in
different locations using only Email.
Code Co-op FeaturesVersion control with or without network connection. No matter where you are you will have access to your project database. Code Co-op creates and manages secure, compact source code databases on every project member's workstation. This enables you to view, check-in, check-out, or restore previous versions regardless of email or network connection.Use your existing infrastructure. Collaboration is possible using your existing infrastructure. You do not have to invest in costly server hardware and software. Developers collaborate through email, a local network or floppy disk exchange. Collaborate with team members anywhere in the world. By using email, developers can contribute to the development of the project from anywhere in the world. Post files automatically to a web server for viewing. You can use the auto-synch feature to provide a current copy of a project on a server that is always up-to-date. Review your changes. You can review the changed files prior to check-in. Code Co-op's built-in visual editor highlights and scrolls through the changes made since the last version. Propagate changes to team members. You can configure Code Co-op to dispatch synch scripts to other developers automatically over the network or through email. Review incoming changes. After receiving a synch script, you can review the changed files with all the differences highlighted. Edits can be made on the spot by selectively checking out files. Use Code Co-op's built-in editor or your preferred editor. View project history. Each script, whether created by you or a team member, is stored in the history tab. You can view the summary of changes made to the project as a whole or to a select group of files. You can quickly determine who introduced a particular change and when. Manage multi-file changes atomically. Code Co-op is a fully transactional system. Atomic multi-file change transactions are resilient against unexpected shutdowns.
