InterAccess Companion is a client side software in the InterAccess family of products. InterAccess Companion contains a 32-bit console telnet client and 23 command line utilities for Windows NT and Windows 95. A console telnet client allows for using NT as a Gateway computer. This means that you are able to connect to an NT telnet session and from within that session start another telnet session to another computer. With GUI telnet clients you cannot do this, because telnet is limited to character based applications.

Ever wish you could change your password from the command line? Would you like to shutdown another machine remotely from the command line? How about having mouse and every key on the keyboard work over telnet? These are just 3 of the 20 demanded tools released with InterAccess Companion. In addition to being a stand-alone product, InterAccess Companion provides the perfect client software for InterAccess TelnetD Server and Terminal Server products.

Companion Users

  • The Telnet Client allows you to telnet out of your Windows NT or Windows 95 computer to access other computers. This feature allows systems management, configuration and monitoring to be done remotely from your computer if the remote computer has a telnet server installed. Thus, it can be used as an NT server management tool.
  • The Companion runs in both NT Servers and Workstations and Windows 95 machines. A second audience for the Companion product are the users and programmers who want to use the remote computing capabilities of a telnet client and the tools that the Companion provides. They can telnet from home or other locations and shutdown or reboot remote computers, change console colors, change computer names, and get operating system version information and much more all remotely.
