Quickly and Easily Add Forms Data Entry Screens to Your Application

Data_EntryG is one of a suite of Electronic Forms components. One method and two properties is all that is required to add a complete Electronic Forms Data Entry Grid capability.

Data_EntryG provides a Grid format Data Entry screen for the Electronic Form as defined in the Definition (DFN) file. The Data_EntryG screen uses a grid format with a list of the fields that are located on the form and a data entry position for each. Once the data has been entered, it can be saved, edited, or deleted using the Data Structure that was set up by the Data_Constructor component. All data types are supported (Barcode, Pictures or graphics, Sequential Numbers, Combo Boxes, Date, Currency, Text, Integers, Numbers, and more). One Method, 7 properties and 9 events provide a wide range of flexibility.

Properties

• DFN -- the path and filename of the DFN
• UserDatabase -- the path and filename of the users database
• UserRecordSet -- a recordset to be used with the Data Entry Screen, in most cases this is a subset of the records in the Form table. Use the QueryBuilder and QueryBuilderODBC components to provide a GUI for the end user to generate the recordset

The following properties are used to set the Visible properties of buttons on the DataEntryGrid Form - If these functions are not going to be included in the application, set the visible property to false.

Methods

• ShowDataEntry -- Provides a data entry Grid screen for the End User to enter data. The information that is entered can be saved, edited, and/or deleted

Events

• Edit -- a record is edited
• Delete -- a record is deleted
• Saved -- a new record is saved returns ID Field Value
• Calibrate -- the User clicks the Calibrate Button
• Print -- User clicks the Print Button
• Fax -- User clicks the Fax Button
• Query -- User clicks the Query Button
• Map -- User clicks on the Map Button
• Terminate -- when the form is terminated
