With an impressive list like above, you would think it nearly impossible to surpass it. But that is precisely what we have done ! We have just surpassed ourselves. We have announced SuperNFS 6.2 !
What's New in 6.2SuperNFS 6.2 offers remote configuration of the clients and servers so as to make their management easy. It also has an unattended or batch-mode installation option during which, through an answer file, the default settings and the drives to be mounted can be specified for the NFS clients. The Batch install feature combined with the remote configuration is a really a very powerful yet flexible tool for managing a large roll-out of the product.
Remote Configuration allows the System Administrator to configure multiple workstations from a single desktop. The administrator console is capable of detecting dynamically the workstations available for configuration or can use a pre-configured list of workstations.
Other major feature additions include NFS V3 support for all the NFS Clients, TCP transport for all the clients and servers. NFS V3 has some significant advantages in terms of performance over NFS V2. Specifically, it helps considerably in directory and write file operations.
