The Impact Scheduler provides a fully configurable definition of .NET accessible actions, that can be defined in a logical grouping as a job that is executed based on a number of parameters. The scheduler can be configured to execute a given job based on a Trigger that is any combination of year, month, day, minute, and second.

These jobs can be run once at a given date and time or scheduled to repeat at specified yearly, monthly, daily, hourly, minute or second intervals.

The Impact Scheduler provides the ability to define a set of Jobs, each Job being comprised of Triggers and Actions defined either in XML or via a provided API.

Each Trigger has independent Actions associated with it. Actions are reusable, and are specified by their class name and assembly name pairs. Each Job can invoke a reusable action with different parameters depending on the Trigger that executed the Job.

Examples of the kinds of actions you can trigger with the Impact Scheduler:

• Execute reports at a given time each day
• Validate/monitor HTTP Servers or Web Services
• Transfer/move files
• Validate Database Operations
• Perform Database Queries
• Insert messages into or Validate MSMQ queues
• Invoke Web Services
• Batch Processing of EDI Documents
• Automated sending of EDI/XML Documents over Secure Transports
• Any action that can be coded in .NET can be invoked

The Impact Scheduler can be embedded within your own ASP.NET or .NET applications, run as a standalone server, or as a Windows Service. All logging from the Scheduler is stored in the Windows EventLog, for a complete audit trail.
