US Mail and Label Control Tool That Lets You -- Format and Print any Mail Piece!
The MailIt control is a Visual Basic 5.0 and 6 ActiveX control that provides the ability to easily
print many different types of mail pieces including envelopes, postcards, and labels from inside
ActiveX programs such as custom Visual Basic 5 applications. If you have ever tried printing
addresses on the many label stocks available, or getting the orientation correct for the different
types of envelope feeds available, you understand the value of this type of control.
The control allows the programmer (or end user via the MailIt Wizard) to determine the choice of
mail piece desired (such as 1 up Avery label 5160, #10 business envelopes, 2x2 postcards, etc.).
A mail piece can include the delivery address, a return address, a stamp (such as a bulk rate permit), and one or two messages. With the use of the MailIt Wizard/MailIt dialog control (comes with the OCX control) the programmer/end user can easily adjust the placement of each of these items or leave them at their default locations. The programmer/end user can control the font (name, size, bold, italic, underline, etc.) used for each. Once the mail piece is correctly set up the programmer only needs to feed a set of addresses to the control and the control prints the entire set of addresses. The capability of MailIt cuts days/weeks of development time from a typical project depending on the number of different types of mail pieces you plan on allowing your user to print. The MailIt Wizard is easy to use and reduces the number of screens you need to provide. There are two levels of software development when using the MailIt control:
