ManageWise® is a comprehensive management solution you can use to successfully manage and control your entire mixed network. Now with support for pure TCP/IP networks, ManageWise offers a comprehensive management solution for your NetWare 5 and Windows NT networks. It enables you to accomplish all management tasks from a single point of administration, including Novell Directory Services® monitoring, NetWare® and Windows NT server management, early-warning alarm notification, network traffic analysis, desktop management, virus protection, network inventorying, and network health reporting. ManageWise 2.7 prevents downtime by enabling proactive management and quick problem resolution. Together with network protection and proactive planning and optimization of network growth, these capabilities make ManageWise key to reducing the total cost of ownership of your network.

ManageWise is fully compatible with NetWare 5, and integrates completely with ZENworks to give you a comprehensive network management tool.

ManageWise pricing is based on the number of managed nodes you use, so you don't have to pay for more than you need. Only workstations and print servers count as nodes -- file servers and printers do not. Novell also provides special pricing for customers upgrading from previous versions of ManageWise or from competing products.

ManageWise supports Windows NT, Windows 95/98, Windows 3.1, DOS, OS/2, and Macintosh operating systems on desktops; NetWare and Windows NT server operating systems on file servers; common network topologies such as Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, token ring, and FDDI; and standard networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, or AppleTalk. Based on SNMP and RMON industry standards, ManageWise 2.7 provides an open platform with a variety of third-party snap-ins.

ManageWise Server: NetWare 5.x (with Support Pack 3a or later); Compatibility mode only with IP and IPX; Pentium processor running at 200MHz or faster; 256MB of RAM; 128MB of disk space

Managed NetWare Server: NetWare 3.12 and above, intraNetWare, NetWare for SFTIII, NetWare SMP, NetWare for Small Business, or NetWare/IP; 27MB of hard disk space; 365KB of RAM on each managed NetWare Server; 6MB of RAM for Virus Protection on each server; 620KB of RAM for LANalyzer in each segment; 5MB of RAM for desktop management utilities; 11KB of RAM for DOS Clients; LANalyzer server also requires an Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, token-ring, or FDDI adapter supporting the promiscuous mode
