NetKeeper Express - automatic LAN inventory software - offers "Real Time" access to view client configuration information when opening a help desk service call in NetKeeper CRM or NetKeeper Help Desk Captain. The information is instantly available. Updates of hardware or software are automatic with every audit. There is no need to import the data. NetKeeper is easy to use and allows unlimited consoles open during an audit. NetKeeper collects information from the machine’s DOS environment variables and maintains an exception log. There are no TSR agents used to collect workstation data. NetKeeper does not create files (hidden or otherwise) on the local drive.

NetKeeper Express can perform a different audit for each machine on the network. The user can script what gets inventoried or collected. Each inventory ( hardware, software, configuration files) can be scheduled separately. NetKeeper can inventory one machine, a group of machines or an entire LAN or WAN. Data from several sites can be merged easily into the database.

NetKeeper Express keeps a record of all the operating systems and versions on the network and tracks other data such as vendor names and addresses etc., maintenance records, barcode data. NetKeeper also keeps a list of users, locations & telephone numbers.

NetKeeper's program design has independent "collection agents" that are easily interchanged or replaced. NetKeeper's collection agents are very "polite". They do not create hidden files or install TSR’s at the workstation. All NetKeeper collection happen at login time.

NetKeeper provides an open database so that users can roll their own collection agents. Each NetKeeper program includes the entire data dictionary for NetKeeper. The whole purpose of installing inventory packages is to collect data that can be used by other applications.
