How Pendragon Forms Works:Scripting, Field Validation & Form AttributesDesigning an application to meet your specific data collection needs is easy with a wide range of field and form attributes. Use scripting, hidden fields and subforms to create streamlined applications. Required fields and data constraints validate data as it is collected. Form level controls allow you to further define user interaction including security, synchronization and removable media back-up settings. Scripting Use the scripting feature to provide intelligent navigation and branching. For example, if you have a Yes/No field, you can branch to a different section of the form based on the user's selection. Scripting can also be used to perform calculations such as conversions or simple currency calculations.
Field Properties and Validation You can also control individual field attributes such as field-hidden, read-only, default value, field limits, etc. Field level controls provide validation as the data is being entered.
Form Properties: Security and Synchronization Control Advanced Form Properties affect all fields on the form, and allow you to control how the user navigates through the form and the limitations of what each user is allowed to do within a form. Advanced Form Properties are divided into four tabs: Views, Behavior, Security and Synchronization. The Views tab gives you options for controlling the appearance of the Field View Screen and the Record View screen on the handheld.
The options on the Behavior tab allow you to further specify how users interact with Pendragon Forms on the handheld and navigate through individual forms. For example, Auto-Repeat This Form automatically start a new from upon completion of another form if a user will be entering many records at one time. The options on the Security tab allow you to limit access to the form design on the handheld with password protection and can prevent form design deletion. If the handheld device supports VFS (Virtual File System), you can also choose how the user will back up data to external media. The options on the Synchronization tab allow you to specify which records are sent from the PC to the handheld and provide some control over data that is going from the PC to the handheld. Generating Form Designs from Existing Data Tables If you are using Pendragon Forms to add data to an existing database, you can generate forms designs directly from external tables. An Import option within the Forms Manager provides several options for creating forms based on existing data sources.
Then, use the Field Mapping Tool to map the fields on your form to the fields in an external table. Pendragon Forms Main Search HALLoGRAM || Request More Information CALL TOLL FREE 1-866-340-3404 |
