pinEdit includes an HTML client with JavaScript code running within the browser and a server part using Java and running within a servlet engine or an application server. The client communicates with server using standard HTML features. Therefore no ActiveX or Applets are needed. There is a client side API for using functionality with JavaScript and a server API for offering open backend processing like reading opening/saving documents on the server and processing text modules.

To integrate pinEdit without modification include just one HTML file in your application and copy the pinEdit core files to your app.
