Productivity enhancements tools for database designers

With PowerDesigner 6.1, both database designers and application developers gain a wide range of productivity enhancements for aiding in the creation of enterprise-wide data solutions.

Models merge like magic! PowerDesigner MetaWorks's enhanced Comparison Manager allows you to compare and merge two data models side by side with the click of a mouse. With an intuitive, split-pane, tree view interface, you can easily identify model differences and control exactly the changes you want to take place. Bottom line...you spend more time designing and less time maintaining models.

Generate test data for your newly designed database or data warehouse with DataArchitect, and WarehouseArchitect. You can generate test data that directly populates database tables from a physical model. Now you can test your design for optimization prior to deploying without having to manually enter sample data yourself.

WarehouseArchitect features new interfaces that support leading decision-support/query tools and OLAP environments. Now metadata information such as multidimensional hierarchies and warehouse data structures can be leveraged in setting up your query environment.

Database designers who need to share modeling information will benefit from the new HTML option for generating reports. Data model and database documentation can now be fully generated in HTML format with appropriate links for navigating throughout the information. Model graphics are also generated so that the databases are represented graphically.
