Electronic Handbook for Properties of Polymers
PPP HandbookTM is an electronic handbook for properties of polymers. In this version (ver. 1.0),
it contains values of over 60 properties for 600+ polymers. The unique feature of the handbook
is that it has estimated values as well as experimental values for many properties. Three
quantitative structure-property relationship methods, with remarkably good prediction accuracy,
were used in estimating these values. By including the estimated values, you will never be disappointed in
not finding the information you are looking for. The key advantages of PPP Handbook, in comparison with
printed handbooks, are that:
- You can find information quickly, using the search engine.
- You can view the values, estimated and experimental, of all the properties
for one polymer simply by scrolling the table, no need to turn from page to page to look up all the values.
- You can view all the values, for one to three properties, for all the polymers
in the database at once, and you can further search and sort the values in each column.
- You can quickly identify structures meeting target values of multiple
properties - a task almost impractical to carry out using regular printed handbooks.
- It contains estimated values as well as experimental values, so that you will always find
the information you are looking for to guide your work.
- You can view the repeat unit structure by simply clicking on the name of the repeat unit.
- Electronic handbooks can be updated with new information frequently.
List of Properties
PPP Handbook contains not only experimental values, but also estimated values. For many
polymers, not all properties have experimental values. By providing the estimated values, you will
always find some information to guide your work.
The handbook contains estimated values of properties, as given in the table below, where
properties are grouped according to the following classifications:
- Volumetric Properties
- Transition Temperatures and Properties
- olubility Parameters, Cohesive Energies and Intermolecular Attraction Energies
- Interfacial Properties
- Calorimetric Properties
- Mechanical Properties
- Optical Properties
- Electric and Magnetic Properties
- Transport Properties
- Thermal Stability
- Properties of Polymers in Dilute Solutions
- Melt Viscosity
