XpressPrinting System The XpressPrinting System gives you a fast and flexible way to automatically design reports based on the contents of visual controls and data tables in your applications. When combined with Developer Express ActiveX technologies, the XpressPrinting System makes it a snap to produce printed output that closely matches the interface your users see every day. The XpressPrinting System not only renders ActiveX controls, it also offers a powerful abstraction layer over the painfully complicated Windows Graphical Device Interface (GDI).

In the tradition of all Developer Express ActiveX controls, the XpressPrinting System comes with a huge feature set to allow you to fully control and manage the data reporting process. Complicated, yet common tasks such as relative positioning of rectangles, text, and graphics are easy using the XpressPrinting System and an advanced print preview interface gives you that finishing touch to help you out-distance your competition.

XpressPrinting System Features

With the XpressPrinting System, it's a snap to build reports or render visual controls such as the XpressQuantumTreeList and XpressQuantumGrid. Here is a brief list of features available to you when using the XpressPrinting System.
  • Render and print the XpressQuantumGrid and XpressQuantumTreeList.

  • Render and print the MS DataGrid Control.

  • Create a report that contains the following elements: Rectangles, Text information Check boxes, Bitmap pictures, Date and time information, Hyperlinks for Internet browsers.

  • Modify background colors and frames of report elements when creating a report.

  • Set report parameters via the Page Setup dialog window.

  • Multiple methods for page number display.

  • Print reports with or without a preview.

  • Modify report characteristics while in preview mode.

  • Fully control scaling and zooming.

  • Display a fixed number of report pages on screen regardless of window size.

  • Fill pages with the color specified in the Color Selection dialog.
