ProTech can be easily integrated into your distributed applications. It offers a variety of levels of reporting problems to users depending on their expected sophistication - from no details to detailed explanations of problems that are identified. ProTech is written entirely in FoxPro, and is compatible with Windows, DOS and Macintosh versions of FoxPro.

The usefulness of ProTech can be extended with the purchase of ProTools, gaining automated recovery of bad files upon file opens, safe reindexing and packing, automated data driven error logging, and hundreds of other useful tools.

ProTech offers heuristic analysis of file size and record counts. It compares record sizes with fields defined in header and repairs any discrepancies. ProTech also repairs offset errors in the header; repairs field name errors; repairs field type errors; attempts to identify actual start of data and adjusts header offsets if appropriate; and checks that there is not more than 256 fields.

ProTech checks for a memo file, if it is missing, ProTech assists in re-associating the memo. ProTech can create an empty memo file and adjust memo file blocking factors. And it checks field definitions for references to memos.

ProTech also checks CDX flags. Toggling of flags is permitted as well as manual updates of code page ID and manual override of all calculated repairs. User can adjust database type flag (some 'security' applications manipulate this flag to render a database unreadable).

All source code and example programs are included, including a directory scan utility. ProTech is royalty free.
