Outlook Bar Style .NET WinForms component
PureComponents Navigator is a new and unique type of .NET WinForms component. PureComponents Navigator is based on the
well known Outlook Bar style but with extended functionality allowing the use of Navigator for
many more possibilities.
PureComponents Navigator brings two basic features:
To developers - possibility, how to make the application architecture more simple
and how to make the code more easy to understand.
To application users - tool to use the application, which is easy to use, nice to
look at and always helpful.
PureComponents Navigator will free you of complicated and messy toolbars. Users
will stop asking how to use your application and they will never get lost in the application.
PureComponents Navigator Basic Features
- PureComponents Navigator -Object model based on the TreeView component
- Advanced functions for the node position change: MoveUp, MoveDown, MoveLeft and MoveRight
- Creation and finding of nodes using functions AddNodeByPath and GetNodeByPath
- Identification of the node with the Key property and getting the node with GetNodeByKey function
- WYSIWYG designer with full support of drag&drop, clipboard and undo&redo
- Direct access to group and node properties in the Form window
- Transformation of the TreeView structure to the Navigator just with drag&drop
- PureComponents Navigator structure creation from the text stored in the clipboard
- Colors and styles that are possible to use within single group, node, at the node's
substructure or even at the whole Navigator
- With PureComponents Navigator it is possible to set style inheritance in the Navigator's hierarchical structure
- Text uderlining using several styles - dash, dot, solid or tilde
- Highlighting the selected node or flashing some important node and its whole path
PureComponents Navigator Object Model
Navigator is created from Groups and Nodes. Using Groups you can divide your application into
several elementary parts. Every each group then consists of hierarchical structure of Nodes.
Navigator's object model brings these advantages:
- Is based on the conventions from .NET Framework
- It is influenced by the TreeView component, so it will look familiar
- Is extended with several sophisticated functions, which saves development time
PureComponents Navigator - Sophisticated Functions
Navigator contains several sophisticated functions, these can free you of routine programming
which repeats in every project again and again. Some of these functions are:
- Methods MoveUp, MoveDown, MoveLeft and MoveRight which you can use to move Nodes in their
hierarchical structure
- AddNodeByPath can create Node together with all parent Nodes
- Key property uniquely indentifies some Node in the whole Navigator
- Using the GetNodeByKey you can get the Node by its Key property
- Transformation of the TreeView structure into the Navigator using drag&drop
- Navigator structure creation from the text stored in the Clipboard
PureComponents Navigator - Powerful Designer
Extensive WYSIWYG designer allows to create fully functional model of the application
navigator within minutes. Main features are:
- Groups and Nodes are individual entities within Navigator, you can set their properties
directly in the Properties Window
- Ddesigner is being driven using Action Menu which has, unlike classical menu, extended functionality
- Adding Groups and Nodes using clipboard from other Navigator
- Using drag&drop to arrange nodes within the Navigator changing the order and indent level of nodes
PureComponents Navigator - Styles and Color Schemes
Using colors it is possible to modify Navigator to your needs. Using styles it is much more
simple to alter the Navigator's look&feel. To alter Navigator's visual style you can:
- Set color and font for each Group and Node
- Set the style and color of treelines
- Select the navigator's border style
- Use Color Schemes from the predefined finetuned set of combinations
- Use predefined style for Groups or Nodes
- Take advantage of the style inheritance in the hierarchical structure
PureComponents Navigator - Context Highlight
Navigator contains graphical elements that can help you to point out some kind of information
or to alert the user of your application. You can:
- Highlight the text using one of the four types of underline - dash, dot, solid and tilde
- Choose the color of the underline
- Use the Flash function to blink the selected node or any other node
PureComponents Navigator - Developer Benefits
- Clear and understandable object model ensures the easy to use approach
- TreeView Grabber function helps with comfortable transformation of your applications that use
TreeView component
- Using the Build from Clipboard function it is possible to speed up the design based on
the customers specification
- Content of the Navigator can be changed using drag&drop or using clipboard, you can even
copy the nodes between several Navigator instances, this helps you with the flexible reusability
in other projects
- Highly developed event model gives the developer full control over the Navigator
- Navigator is developed in just one single DLL file (assembly) which gives you the simple distribution
- Using the WYSIWYG designer it is possible to visualy create the structure without writing even one
single line of code
