Advanced Technology

SAM utilizes advanced technologies that distinguish it from other products. Most products rely on NT or application specific logs for monitoring and detection. SAM utilizes technology that captures events at the operating system kernel level to create an activity journal that is extremely robust. In addition, SAM is the only product that can create activity journals on Windows 9x machines, and thus provides proactive monitoring and system management on these machines.

How SAM Works

SAM offers a simplified approach to monitoring and system management. SAM has two major components: The SAM Control Console with an intuitive user interface, and a SAM Agent. The SAM Agent works in the background to monitor user and system activities and stores them in the SAM Activity Journal. The monitored activities can be controlled via filters that are applied using predefined or user defined templates.

The Control Console consists of two panels with a tree view interface. The panel on the left displays the machines on the network, the panel on the right consists of several tabs to help administrators focus their attention. These tabs include journal activities, system configuration information, services, processes, applications, grouped activities, registry and performance monitors.
