Features

Spy-Server is a Search engine for web sites that consist of HTML, PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT and TXT files. Spy-Server is a Java Servlet that will run in most servers. Some servers will need to be equipped with a servlet engine or application server.

Keep your search engine accurate and up to date - schedule Spy-Server to index your web site or intranet regularly, with a report emailed automatically. Administrators can then feel assured that their search engine is up to date with everyone's changes. (Only HTML, PDF, DOC and TXT files supported by regular indexings.)

The search screens are automatically shown in the user's preferred language. Eleven Western and Asian languages are supported.

The Spy-Server output can be customised using template files and variables.

Search words in web pages can be highlighted - in IE4+ with Java.

A full range of search options are available:

The Spy-Server full development kit for Windows includes the Spy-Server Web Application, full documentation and the manual indexing tool Spy-CD-Wizard (that supports all file types including XLS and PPT).

Spy-Server is a Java servlet Web Application that is easy to deploy in any Java servlet engine or application server. Spy-Server has been tested in Apache Tomcat and JServ, BEA WebLogic Server, Borland Enterprise Server, IBM WebSphere, Macromedia JRun, Sun iPlanet Web Server and Sun ONE Application Server.

Licensing

Personal License: The Personal licence lets you use the Spy-CD/Spy-Server development kit on one computer, distribute the Spy-CD runtime on 200CDs with a maximum of 200 files. You can put the Spy-Server or Spy-CD runtime on one web site, displaying a maximum of 200 files.

Standard License: The Standard licence lets you use the Spy-CD/Spy-Server development kit on one computer, distribute the Spy-CD runtime on 750 CDs and put the Spy-CD or Spy-Server runtime on one web site.
