Advanced Visual FoxPro Training Package

The Advanced package is designed to further enhance the current Visual FoxPro programmer's skills. It combines our 3-day advanced class, TNVFP 5202: Advanced Application Development With Visual FoxPro 6.0 with our 2-day client/server class, TNVFP 5301: Developing Client/Server Applications With Visual FoxPro 6.0.

After completing this five day course, students will be proficient and productive with such Visual FoxPro techniques as:

• Preventing your application from being executed more than once
• Understanding the difference between client/server and file server architectures
• Understanding the role of ODBC in a client/server application
• Building ODBC data sources
• Implementing Visual FoxPro connections
• Designing Remote Views to access ODBC data sources
• Building forms based on Remote Views
• Combining local and remote data to build optimized client/server applications
• Prototyping client/server applications on a laptop or desktop machine
• Migrating Visual FoxPro data to Microsoft SQL Server with the Upsizing Wizard
• Communicating directly with backend database servers via SQL Passthrough
• Utilizing the SQLEXEC() function to pass SQL commands to the server
• Calling pre-compiled, backend stored procedures
