T-PRO NEW FEATURES
SOFTPROOF & PREFLIGHT!
Transverter Pro includes a diverse set of PostScript solutions in one package which include RIP features for rasterizing PostScript Level 2 files to TIFF and screen previews for EPS images. Transverter Pro also makes entire PostScript files visually editable down to the component level when used in conjunction with FreeHand, Illustrator, Canvas or Photoshop. All paths, text at the font and character level, photographs and bitmap images are completely editable, as are all components of placed EPS files contained within the document. The full feature set includes the ability to RIP, convert for visual editing, place, view, softproof, and preflight PS and EPS files. The Level 2 interpreter rasterizes (RIPs) files for editing in Photoshop or for output on large format color printers. Files can be output to 32-bit CMYK for imagesetter use, as 24-bit RGB for multimedia and 35mm slides, or to 1-bit output for producing high quality corporate literature fax output .Many designers and illustrators have been frustrated with the issue of another corporate department or client sending them incompatible graphic materials for inclusion in a brochure, presentation or annual report. Frequently the graphics have not been created on the Macintosh and the designers' graphic tools can't access the file. This results in the artwork being redone at considerable expense. Transverter Pro lets you accept PS files from any source and converts them into graphically editable object components. Drawing paths, text at the font and character level, photographs and bitmaps are all editable using FreeHand,Illustrator, Canvas or Photoshop. In addition, placed EPS images are made editable down to the object level allowing for modifications or copying and pasting the EPS image into another document. This is handy when the only available source of a graphic is already contained in a PostScript document as an EPS image. Transverter Pro makes the document editable so the EPS graphic can be extracted or inclusion in another document. Prepress houses will also appreciate this feature for last minute modifications or for fixing imaging problems in an EPS image. Engineers and others working on Unix workstations and mainframes can get editable Macintosh files by outputting their work as PostScript (Print to a File), moving the file over to the Mac, and converting it with Transverter Pro. Another issue this utility solves is making PostScript placeable. The basic difference between a PS and EPS file is that an EPS file can be placed onto the page of another document. PostScript files, by definition, can be multiple pages and are therefore not placeable onto a page. Transverter Pro can take a PS file and convert each page into a placeable EPS file. Quark, PageMaker, WordPerfect, or PowerPoint users can take multiple page PS files and convert them into useable pages. Storing many PostScript files on disk can cause confusion over what each file contains. To verify what is in them has typically required downloading to a printer to view them. Transverter Pro contains a simple drag and drop PostScript file viewer to quickly view files on-screen. As an added bonus the viewer will also work as a helper application with Internet World Wide Web browsers, like Netscape or Mosaic, for on-line PS file viewing. Service bureaus, designers and prepress departments can take advantage of Transverter Pro for softproofing and preflight. Before sending a file out to their service bureau for imagesetter output designers can quickly softproof the file on-screen to verify it's contents. Service bureaus and prepress departments can check an incoming PostScript job by rapidly proofing on their monitor, preventing tying up valuable output device time on files that won't image properly due to missing fonts, bad PostScript or misplaced linked files. Missing fonts and PostScript errors are listed in a log for easy identification.
