Highlights
To print forms you no longer need to create XSLT stylesheets or write
complex programs to merge data and generate XSL-FO. Creating the layout
can now be done without programming using the intuitive GUI that offers a
true WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) of the form. The result is a
layout definition file that can then be used with XSL Template Designer’s
Runtime Engine to produce XSL-FO of the XML data and layout merged into
one file. With Antenna House XSL Formatter you can then format the XSL-FO
for print, PDF or screen whether it is 1 page or 100,000 pages.
XSL Template Designer’s GUI provides a WYSIWYG layout pane for laying
out each element of the form and a property pane for setting all the
details about each element.
The layout pane supports 4 types of object for forms.
- Tables
- Images
- Text
- Barcodes
The feature of XSL Template Designer V1.2
- No knowledge of stylesheets or programming required - Even knowing the
benefits of using XML but you have had second thoughts because of how difficult
it is to design and create complicated stylesheet to print your XML data, you
don’t need to be concerned anymore. XSL Template Designer V1.2 eliminates the
need to have a knowledge of XSLT Stylesheets, XSL-FO or programming. You simply
use the GUI to layout the form and the property pane to associate the data.
- Wide range of built-in functions - Complex processing can be specified and
executed easily with the wide range of format specification and built-in
functions (string manipulation, total processing, conditional judgment, xpath
specification, etc.)
- Supports three layout types - It is up to you which layout type you use,
from Fixed layout for rigid forms, Flow layout for forms that have expanding
fields to accommodate the data, and Label layouts.
- Flexibility for designing - Both variable type and fixed type can be
specified to the object such as table, cell and text, so that they can expand
and contract automatically based on the data. Complex and nested repetition of
elements and objects can be specified.
- Two programs in one - A Windows based GUI Designer for creating the forms.
A Java Runtime Engine that transforms XML data and works with XSL Formatter to
produce print, PDF and screen outputs.
- Interface - The Java Interface of the Runtime Engine is designed to enable
the construction of systems that require server side printing of forms. A command
line interface is also available.
