X-Win32 is StarNet's X terminal application for Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0 and even Windows 2000. X-Win32 allows Windows users to connect to Linux/Unix servers on a network and run the applications from those servers on their Windows desktop, right along side popular Windows applications. Users can even copy and paste data between the X and Windows applications.

Multiple X applications can run on the Windows desktop with X-Win32

Unlike most PC X servers, X-Win32 was designed to be a highly focused X server. Peripheral functionality such as file-sharing and Telnet are not part of the program. For one, these functions are available from other sources, such as Samba, a file-sharing application, which works well with X-Win32 and is available for free download from a number of Web sites.

X-Win32 boots up almost instantly, and getting a session up and running is a matter of a few seconds. Still, X-Win32 is very versatile, letting you work in single or multiple window modes and letting you select from one of three connection types (XDMCP, REXEC,or RSH).
