ZIPsales ZIP CodesAll U.S. Postal Service ZIP codes, with the following information
How ZIP codes relate to Sales TaxesZIP codes -- being created by the U.S. Postal Service for the sole purpose of delivering mail -- are not consistent with the political boundaries of city, county, and state. While 23% of ZIP codes cross city, or county lines, most of the ZIP code products on the market, provide only a single city, county, and state per ZIP code. In order to apply the appropriate sales tax rates for each ZIP code, CCH goes beyond what the USPS provides. We research all the possible boundaries of every given ZIP code, using geographic data provided by the U.S. government and private companies, to pinpoint the exact geographic location of every ZIP code, and all the cities and counties it crosses into. Because ZIP codes are periodically deleted, added, or realigned, taxpayers must monitor these changes to retain accurate sales tax determinations.
